BOM list for the Ballscrew version

This page for the ballscrew version is under construction, You can download the correct plates from the link below. please come back later for the correct BOM list. You can use the parts below to build a ballscrew version but it also include screw for the other versions.

The Raw Creative 2.5 bill of materials includes recommended parts from AliExpress. The goal is to make the build easier by giving you a clear list of components that fit the machine and work well together.

Some links are affiliate links, which means I may receive a small commission if you purchase through them. This does not increase the price for you.

By using these links, you help support the continued development of Raw Creative 2.5, including videos, build guides, drawings and future improvements.

You are free to source the parts from other suppliers, but the listed components are selected to reduce guesswork and make the build as smooth as possible.

To make the build even easier, selected hardware kits, plates and other custom parts are also available directly from our website. These parts are designed specifically for the Raw Creative 2.5 build and can save time compared to sourcing or making everything yourself.

We update this BOM list regularly, but product links, prices, specifications and availability may change.
Always double-check the product dimensions, quantity and compatibility before ordering. We cannot take responsibility for incorrect purchases, changed listings, unavailable products or supplier mistakes.

All measurements in this BOM list are in millimetres.
The Raw Creative 2.5 is designed around metric components, drawings and hardware. Please make sure that all parts you order match the metric dimensions shown in the list.

If you normally work in inches, do not convert the machine design to imperial measurements unless you fully understand how it affects the build. Mixing metric and imperial parts may cause alignment issues or parts that do not fit correctly.

If you are unsure about sourcing the correct metric hardware, you can purchase the hardware kit from us. The hardware kit includes the required metric screws and selected hardware needed for the build.

Plates
Laser cut steel plates can be expensive to produce in small quantities, especially because every hole and cut adds to the cost. To keep the build cost as low as possible, the plate list is divided depending on which version of the Raw Creative 2.5 you want to build. This way you only need to order the plates required for your machine version. If you want maximum flexibility, a universal plate kit with the required plates for different machine versions is available from our website.

You can buy the plates from us or cut them yourself from 6mm and 3mm steel. Download the plates from here: (only belt version for now) Download plates

Aluminium, Racks, cable and guide rail Calculator
To calculate the length of these parts you can go to our online calculator, klick the link and it will open a separat window. https://creative.rawcnc.com/calculator-for-raw-creative-2-5-machine/ Use the calculator to enter your desired machine size and write down the required measurements for the listed parts. Then come back to this BOM list and use those measurements when ordering your components.

Square tube
If you want to reinforce the X-axis with a steel tube (recomended), you will find them at your local hardware store or online. In Sweden you can buy dem here: Montano or Maskindelen. Choose a tube withe measure 80x40x2mm. Length:
– 935x1000mm machine= 730mm
– 1180×1000-1180x1500mm machine= 970mm
– 1500x2000mm machine= 1300mm (You can use 2x tubes and splice them or a 1000mm tube with gaps on left and right side.)

Reference products
Some products, such as screws, washers and nuts, may link to our Swedish website so you can see what the product looks like and identify the correct type. Please note that these items cannot be purchased individually from that page. They are only shown as a reference and may be included in one of our hardware kits.

The BOM list is based on a larger 2000 x 1500 mm machine to make sure the listed parts are sufficient for most builds. This means that you may have some parts left over if you build a smaller machine. If you want to calculate the quantities more precisely, we recommend studying the build videos and adjusting the quantities according to your own machine size.

We choose hexagon screw due to its color and low price (torx screw or any screw with a low head is used in tight spaces and are marked “Torx”)

Products in the BOM list marked with * are included in our hardware kit.
Use the calculator first to see what length you need for some of the products!
All links open in a new tab or window.

These items are not necessarily included in the BOM list, but they are useful to have during the build.

Threading Taps for aluminium profiles 6mm

It is important that you buy good quality taps. Cheap taps will snap off immediately and if the tap gets stuck in the hole, it cannot be removed.
Note that some profiles have 4mm holes instead of 5mm. If you have such a profile. drill the holes to 5mm and thread with 6mm tap as the picture above.

Other things that may be needed are

  • A 1.5 spindle with a frequency converter and 65mm spindle clamp. Alternatively, you can mount on a regular compact router from Makita, Bosch or Dewalt. However, edge trimmers and 1.5kw spindles have a 65mm shaft, so you need a spindle clamp 65mm diameter.
  • Consumption table. Cut your own consumable table by following our guides.
  • Dust shoe These effectively remove dust and shavings so you don’t inhale it.

If you have the products mentioned above, you are ready to build a Raw Creative machine.
