Are CAD models available, or only images?

Hi,

I recently purchased the Build Access package for the Raw Creative 2.5, expecting proper drawings (DXF/CAD files) as described in the listing. What I received turned out to be images and screenshots rather than actual CAD/drawing files.

Is a full CAD model (STEP, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) available anywhere for the machine? Having native CAD files would make it much easier to check dimensions, plan modifications, and get parts made accurately.

Thanks in advance for any clarification.

Hi,

Thanks for your message.

At the moment, there is no full CAD model of the complete Raw Creative 2.5 machine available in STEP, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or similar formats.

The Build Access package is mainly intended as a practical build area with collected build information, illustrations, DXF files for the custom plates, BOM lists, calculators, videos and build notes. The DXF files are provided for the parts that need to be cut, but a complete 3D CAD assembly of the whole machine is not currently included.

You do not need a full CAD model to build the machine. The machine is designed so that the build can be completed using the information, illustrations, dimensions, BOM and DXF files provided through the website.

I understand that a full CAD model would be useful for checking dimensions, planning modifications and visualizing the complete machine. It is something I would like to create in the future, but making and maintaining a complete CAD assembly for all machine versions, updates and variations takes quite a lot of time. For that reason, I do not want to promise a release date yet.

Best regards,
Janne

Hi Janne, thank you for the reply, that makes perfect sense, I'll try to figure out what size I'm going to build and then order the part from overseas. Btw, are the plates machined by laser cutting or CNC?

The plates we provide is machined by laser, but if you have a cnc you can cut the plates from aluminium
