I saw this discussed some earlier, but I'm starting a new topic as suggested because I also have another question about it. 

3mm seems easy enough to get here. And I saw that you believe .250 inch should be ok for the 6mm. What about the 10mm spacer? Does that need to be exactly 10mm?

The 10 mm spacer does not need to be exactly 10 mm.

The top plate on the Z-axis is designed so it can handle a small difference in that spacer thickness. So if you can source something close, for example 9 mm or 11 mm, that should also work fine.

Of course, 10 mm is the reference dimension in the design, but a small difference there should not cause any major problem.

So in short: use 10 mm if you can, but 9–11 mm should be okay.
