Hi, watched a few of your videos while I was on holiday and decided to give one a go when I got home..  I went for the inventive due to low cost and readily available materials.  As I learn more I’m going to build a new one from the creative download files with better materials.

Ive built one but decided to go with the break out board and DM542 drivers etc..

Im having issues with my display in mach3 seemingly being in inches and it won’t change to mm.  I managed to cut from a demo file last week and it was ok, when I tried to cut yesterday it was absolutely huge ( looks like it’s move 1” instead of 1mm) I have it set to mm everywhere I can.

I recalibrated the x and y axis, but then it hardly moved on jog. I googled this and found I needed to change the velocity in motor tuning.  I’m using the belt drive with 5mm pitch and 16 tooth pulleys. I’ve had to set the steps per unit to 20 tooth pulleys get the correct the distance but this seems very low?

also I’ve fitted proximity sensors and can’t get the motors to stop when I get to them.

i didn’t have a pc with a parallel port so got one of the usb only ones, could this be the issue?

I can buy a cheap pc from marketplace and have ordered a parallel port card from amazon so was going to give this a go and change back to the original break out board.

any help appreciated!

Stu
